I was hoping to take full moon shots after my earlier photography plans went by the wayside but I couldn’t get that to work out, even although the moon is in this shot.
Anyway, I stopped downtown to get a shot of the former State Theater of Owatonna, built in 1935 and including “a 35′ high ceiling, four distinct arches, Art Deco sconces, 1000 seats, plush curtains and a vaudeville stage.” It became the local theatre in the 70s. The building has been empty for nearly 15 years now. My kids say they’ve heard it’s haunted. Wooooooo!
I say this is what happens to Main Street in rural towns when the big box stores go up on the outskirts.
